Trade Operations Assistant Manager

HCT is the international trading arm of the HeidelbergCement Group, handling overseas dry-bulk products exports and imports. For our Istanbul office, we are looking for a highly talented individual to join our team as a Trade Operations Assistant Manager.
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, commerce, banking and finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar function (i.e., Export Documentation & Letter of Credits preferably in multinational companies, Trade Finance in banks/financial institutions, or similar)
  • Considerable knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP 745, ISP 98, URC 522, Incoterms 2020, Bill of Lading Terms & Conditions, International Invoicing Practices, etc.
  • Advanced Proficiency in English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
  • Having experience in ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred)
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with our trading and shipping teams for documentation requirements of seaborne deliveries from and to Asia, Africa, Europe, North/Central/South America, and Australia.
  • Daily correspondences with internal and external parties like Suppliers, Customers, Shipping Agents, Banks, HCT Trading/ Shipping/ Quality Teams, etc., for documentation issues regarding international shipments and responsible for timely preparation of import-export documentation as well as destination country regulations.
  • Processing Letters of Credit & Collections and other bank operations under the guidance of UCP600, ISBP 745, URC 522, etc. regulations. Invoicing, arranging goods inspections, and reporting.
  • Continuously reviewing Trade Operations Department’s shipment handling practices in multiple shipment types and coming up with improvement ideas to increase the efficiency of the Department.
